I think we’ve found the perfect (easiest) holiday destination

I know the title of this blog post is a big claim but I’m pretty sure we’ve found the perfect holiday destination.  Or, at least the perfect holiday destination with a toddler in tow.  Ibiza.

We’ve just returned from a week in Santa Eulalia and we had a brilliant time.  It was so easy.  Admittedly it wasn’t the most adventurous holiday we’ve been on or will go on but we didn’t want adventure.  We wanted to relax in the sun somewhere that was no hassle.  We didn’t hire a car or anything.

The resort itself was reasonably big with a port and a town that has everything you need for a week away.  The beach is lovely, golden sand with restaurants and bars who all seem to welcome children.  It was pretty quiet but not too quiet.  One of the joys of having a pre-school kid is not needing to holiday in the school holidays yet and the only other families in the resort had pre-school kids.

Hmm, which villa would we like????

We went on a couple of daytrips using the regular ferries from the port.  One to Ibiza Town where I desperately tried to recall a holiday there in my twenties, it all looked so different, prettier and cleaner.  And, another day trip to a neighbouring resort, Es Cana, and the weekly hippy market.  I’m not really a market girl, I wish I was, but it made a nice change.

And with a flight time of just over two hours from the UK it was so easy.  I honestly can’t recommend Ibiza more.  Next time we go I think we’ll try a different resort and hire a car and really explore more of the island.  Hopefully Master ATWAAH will be into a trip to Café del Mar and I can definitely recreate my twenties.
