Mrs F’s Mexico Hotel Recommendations

If you have been inspired to take the kids to Mexico after Mrs F’s lowdown for us then here are some of her hotel recommendations for you to take a look at.

In Tulum Mrs F recommends Don Diego De La Selva which she describes as having a lovely oasis feel with a gorgeous pool and jungle patios.  It has been open since 2005 and was the first hotel in the area to offer an alternative to the beachfront cabanas.

Pool life

For a hotel experience which is described as being ‘off the grid’ try Coco Tulum which has a beachfront location in boutique style cabanas.  Although the rooms are small Mrs F feels you pay for the location including an amazing beach which you can walk straight out onto.

And finally, the Hacienda Hotel Santa Domingo in Izamal, a little village outside Merida.  It is a boutique hotel on a farm which is very secluded but meant Mrs F and her family had a lovely pool all to themselves.  Also it is family run and meals are cooked by them including three course dinners and gluten free options for Miss F.  The breakfast gets a big thumbs up with local honey, breads, cereal, juices and eggs cooked Mexican style.  The only word of warning is to watch out for the water troughs dotted around the farm for the animals when you have little children with you.
